MSO's Home for the Holidays

It was a great experience to perform with the Maryland Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Maestra Elizabeth Schulze as part of their annual Home for the Holidays concert. I commissioned and worked with Senior Chief Musician Scott Silbert, chief arranger for the United States Navy Band, to create a new arrangement that was premiered with the MSO. He brought beautiful colors to “Lo A Rose E’er Blooming” through his thoughtful and skilled orchestration. I also performed the beloved Paraguayan carol “Villancico de Navidad.” Josef Peter Traun’s arrangement of this work for guitar and strings was a joy to perform. Mr. Traun is a guitarist, composer and arranger from Austria. He was incredibly kind to prepare this lovely arrangement for the performance. Many of his works are available through www.scoreexchange.com/profiles/jptraun. At some time in the future, I would like to record both works with a chamber orchestra. In the meantime, I have recorded a solo version of "Villancico de Navidad." You can download this solo recording on CD Baby and you can listen on Youtube.
