Daily Scale Videos

You can practice your open position major scales along with these videos which were made for guitarists learning notes in first position and various key signatures. Goals include mastery of note knowledge, consistent use of first-position fingerings, right-hand finger alternation, and tone. The tempo is 80 bpm.

Lofi Scale Play Along

These Lofi Scale Play Along tracks were created to encourage mindful practice and provide a relaxed warm up for settling into a lesson or practice session. You can play in the octave or position of your choice, and they aren't just for guitar!

Why use them?

  • To help create an atmosphere of calm and promote mindful playing

  • To notice the quality, resonance and timing of each pitch and articulation

  • To encourage a regulated nervous system and positive associations with playing

  • To connect to rhythm and pulse

  • To enjoy the feeling of playing with other instruments

About the Practice Tracks

  • All major keys, two octaves, ascending and descending with a two measure break and bass cue between directions

  • Whole notes at 80 bpm

  • Includes a drone of the tonic to help train the ear to hear the harmonic quality of each scale degree against the root note

  • Each track starts with an intro to allow time to get to your instrument after hitting 'play'
